The UCLA OSPO is based at the UCLA Library Data Science Center and coordinates UCLA’s participation in the UC OSPO Network.
UCLA leads the network’s education and workforce development activities, including open source curriculum development, UC Carpentries workshops, and system-wide training programs.
DataSquad¶
UCLA’s OSPO is integrated with DataSquad, the Library Data Science Center’s student workforce development program. DataSquad gives students hands-on experience supporting research projects while building practical skills in open source tools and workflows, documentation, software stewardship, and research computing. It’s a direct path into open source contribution work that most coursework doesn’t cover.
